When the printer detects an issue within the print head or if it has been left powered off or in a non-operation state (Powered on, not in status Ready) for a while, the printer can perform an extended maintenance called an ink purge.

When the printer performs this ink purge, the LCD screen will display waiting... this can last up to half an hour, maybe sometimes longer. Whilst the printer is displaying Waiting...it is vital to leave it powered on in order for the maintenance cycle to complete itself. If you power the printer off, it may commence the ink purge all over again.

If the printer has depleted one or more ink cartridges because of an ink purge, please insert new ink cartridges in order to complete the cycle.
