VJ 628 Cleaning and Maintenance

Basic Preventative Maintenance and Cleaning

As with any printer, preventative maintenance should be part of a daily practice. Without preventative maintenance, consumable parts may become strained or worn, the life of the parts may be cut in half and poor production may result. To keep the Sawgrass VJ-628 running at optimal performance levels, be sure to follow the Basic Preventative Maintenance and Cleaning on the Sawgrass VJ-628 video recommendations.

Auto-Clean Settings:

Multiple Shift Users: Confirm once a month to determine no inadvertent setting changes have taken place.

Auto-Clean settings should be set to at least 1 short clean every 6 hours (360 minutes).
To confirm, select the Advanced Setting tab in the Remote Panel of the ValueJet Status Monitor, adjust if needed and select Update in the top of the screen to save the setting.

Cleaning the Capping Area:

Clean with mixture of hot distilled water and Sawgrass Clean 60 weekly or as needed.

Use foam tipped cleaning swabs available in the VJ-628 Cleaning Kit. Never use alcohol or eco-solvent cleaners on or around the capping assembly as print head damage may result.
(As demonstrated in the Basic Preventative Maintenance and Cleaning on the Sawgrass VJ-628 video)

Single 8-Hour Shift Users: Replace once a year or as needed
Multiple 8-Hour Shift Users: Replace every 2,880 hours or as needed with new VJ-628 Cap Head Assembly.
(Cap Head replacement demonstrated in the Cap Head Assembly Replacement Guide Video.)

 Optimal Paper Recommendation

mceclip3.pngmceclip4.png

Using the optimal sublimation paper does play a roll in any printer’s performance. If a heavier coated paper is used, it can produce a heavy dust that can wear down and clog consumable parts, thus meaning a heavier cleaning routine would be needed.  If the paper is too thin, the ink may bleed heavily and produce poor output. The tested and recommended optimal sublimation papers for the Sawgrass VJ-628 include the following and may be purchased through your authorized Sawgrass dealer.
