Symptom:


With an SG500 or SG1000 configured to use a dynamic IP address (assigned by DHCP server). however the current IP address is not within a valid IP address range for the network.

The assigned IP address is either:

  • 0.0.0.0 
  • 11.22.33.44 
  • 169.x.x.x (This generally means that the DHCP server is unreachable)

 

Fix:

  1. Press the [Menu] key.
  2. Press the [▲] or [▼] key to display [System Settings], then press [OK]
  3. Press the [▲] or [▼] key to display [Interface Settings], then press [OK] key
  4. Press the [▲] or [▼] key to display [Network], then press [OK] 
  5. Press the [▲] or [▼] key to display [Machine IPV4 address], then press [OK]
  6. Press the [▲] or [▼] key to select [Specify], then press [OK]
  7. Power cycle the printer
  8. Perform steps 1-5 again
  9. Press the [▲] or [▼] key to select [Auto-Obtain (DHCP)], then press [OK]
  10. Press the [Menu] button when you are finished.
  11. The current IP address should now be within a valid range for the network.
